The score
Current draws on three health signals: HRV, sleep, and resting heart rate. Each is scored against your personal history: a rolling baseline built from your own data, not a static benchmark designed for someone else.
Heart rate variability is the clearest window into how recovered your nervous system is.
Duration and quality, measured against what's normal for you.
Elevated resting heart rate is a consistent signal of stress or underrecovery.
Population averages flatten individual variation. Current builds your score against a rolling window of your own data, so the number actually means something for you.
Current doesn't score sleep stages. Wearable sleep staging is hardware-dependent and inconsistent. HRV already captures what quality sleep does for your body. That's what the score uses.
The backstory
I track my health data obsessively: sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, every day. But staring at a dozen separate numbers never gave me a clear answer. I built Current to give myself one. I use it every morning.
